US Airways worker dies in accident

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- A US Airways Express employee died in an accident on the tarmac at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Sunday, causing the airline to cancel most of its flights at the facility.
A source familiar with the accident said the worker was hit by a propeller about 5 p.m. and died instantly. The airline declined to identify the employee.
The incident involved Flight 3340 from Washington to White Plains, New York, which was carrying 29 passengers, a US Airways spokeswoman said.
The airline canceled most express service out of Reagan National after the accident and diverted several flights to Baltimore/Washington International Airport, said the spokeswoman who asked not to be identified.
The spokeswoman said the airline planned to resume normal operations out of Reagan National Monday. She said US Airways was cooperating with authorities investigating the accident.
